Farewell, friend

Bicri Ann (August 1997-February 27, 2009)

Dondi's/Don's chow-mix puppy had to be put to sleep this morning. She was 11 1/2 years old.

Bicri was Dondi's dog when she moved home in 2000. When we got married in 2001, Bicri stayed with Don and Debbie.

We were over at the Jordans on Monday night for dinner and noticed Bicri was not her usual joyful self. She was listless, tired, and clearly hadn't eaten in several days. When we went back on Thursday, she was in far worse shape, couldn't get comfortable and her breathing was labored. We decided the best thing would be to put her down. Don took her to the vet, who concurred and put her to sleep this morning. She went peacefully and quietly. She will be missed.

Dogs' lives are too short. Their only fault, really. (American novelist and short story writer Agnes Sligh Turnbull)
